How to set up a PII Question?

Main Use

This question type is mainly used for collecting the participants personal information collectively known as PII (Personal Identifiable Information). This includes name, email address, phone numbers, and postal/zip codes.

Note: The default for inca is NOT to accept PII. If a client wants to collect PII, then a separate MSA is needed. Please contact your account manager for more details.

How to set up the platform:

1. In the Questionnaire Builder page, add a new question OR insert a new question by hovering over an existing question and clicking the green (+) button (either above or below the existing question)


2. Select PII from the popup menu that appears.

. Write your question number or label in the upper box and write your question in the Question Text Box. 


Useful Control Settings 

Text Validation

This prompts the participant to type in the specific format of text for Phone Numbers, Email and Postal / Zip Code (Canada and US only), and Custom Regex





Users will need to select the Text Validation provided in the drop down 




What is Custom Regex?
Text regex option for text validation is for users to enter custom regex validation (for example UK zip codes). Custom Regex is an advanced feature where programmers who know how to generate regex statements would use. One quick way is to just ask chatgpt to generate one for you.



Allow Copy Paste

Allow participants to copy and paste text from different windows or sources. We recommend toggling on Allow Copy Paste when collecting exact information like member ID, which may be difficult to memorize.


Show Not Applicable

This gives the participant a choice to not answer the question if the question is not applicable to them. You can toggle on Show not applicable, and also edit the wording for "Not applicable" in the Not Applicable Text Box. An example would be to use it as a "Skip" button.


Data Privacy
When the PII question is collected on the dashboard, this will not be seen on the Reports page of the dashboard for data privacy. Please contact support@nexxt.in to enable permission for any user who needs to export it on the Data Export page.
