What is a Rapid Choice Question and how to set it up?

Main use:

Rapid Choice Question is designed to measure the implicit association, system 1 type of responses.

Participants are shown a stimulus and then a series of words are shown one by one and participants are asked to click on the word if they associate it with the stimulus. The words are only on screen for a very short time. This means we can be confident that any associations between word and stimulus are at the implicit ‘System 1’ level.

How to set up the platform:

1. In the Questionnaire Builder page, add a new question OR insert a new question by hovering over an existing question and clicking the green (+) button (either above or below the existing question)

2. Select Rapid Choice Question from the popup menu that appears.

3. Write the question label and edit the question or introduction on the QUESTION TEXT Box. Note: Use the Question Text Box as an introductory question or instruction

4. Users can modify the structured Exercise Instruction or keep it as is

5
. Upload the stimulus material (brand logo)

6. Add the participants' choices using the Response Options Box (Content and Settings)

Response Option Box (Content):
- If adding options by typing choices one by one in the Option Content field, click Add Option
- If adding options using copy-paste from a list, or drag-and-drop list/image, click Batch Add

- When adding Options (whether individually, batch add or from Library) , the Value or option codes as well as the Label (what appears in result visualization or dashboard) will also be automatically updated, but can also be modified by users.

Option Box (Settings):
A. Randomize Options
- If you want to randomize a response to shuffle the choices (and to avoid response bias), toggle on Randomize options. This will display the options in a random order instead of the order you added them in.

B. AutoFill Option Values
- If enabled, the option values will be auto filled based on the options (1 to N)

Note: The default option format is Text only
