How to manage question cards/list - move, delete, duplicate?

In the Question Builder Tree, you can manage the order of your survey by moving, deleting, and duplicating questions.

How to Move Questions

When building your survey, you may want to move or reorder questions to a different order. You can do so very easily by clicking the question card in the Question Tree Bar and then dragging and dropping the question to the order you want.

How to Delete Questions

To delete a question, click on the ellipsis icon on the top right corner of the question card and click DELETE. A pop-up will appear to confirm whether you want to proceed further to delete the question. Click on OK to delete the question permanently.

Note:

  • When deleting a question, any Question Logic, Custom Screener for Quota and/or Termination Logic hinged on that question will also be deleted. So make the necessary adjustments to other questions that will be affected in your overall survey design.
  • When we delete a Group question, it would delete all the sub-questions under this Group question, so be very careful if the users want to delete a Group question.

How to Duplicate Questions

When building your survey, you may want to add a similar question to the existing set of questions and you want to save time editing text questions, and options. You can do so by duplicating a question.

To duplicate a question, click on the ellipsis icon on the top right corner of the question card and clicDUPLICATE. A pop-up will appear to change the question title. Edit the question title then click DUPLICATE QUESTION. The duplicated question will appear as the last question (before the Departing Message) in the Question Tree Bar and you can move this to the order that you require.

When duplicating a question, not only text and option formatting are copied, but the Question Logic and Option Logic are also copied.

Note:

  • You can duplicate most of the questions except for Questions used as Custom Screeners for Quota as well as Custom Screeners for Termination Logic and Built-In targeting options (questions and options that will disqualify participants).
  • When duplicating a Group question, all the logic will be copied over, but the behaviour is different depending on whether the reference/source question of the logic is within or outside of the Group:

For example, If we have a Group G1 with questions Q2, Q3 and Q4. Q2 has a pre-condition based on Q1, while Q4 has a precondition based on Q3.

Q1 (Brand users or not)

Group G1

Q2 (Pre-condition in Q1, Satisfaction on Brand A users)

Q3 (Show Concept 1 + Concept Appeal)

Q4 (Pre-condition in Q3, if negative rater, what is the reason)

When we duplicate this Group for another testing concept labelled as Group G1_copy with questions Q2_copy,

Q3_copy, Q4_copy:

Group G1_copy

Q2_copy- By default we copy the same logic and still reference Q1 as Q1 a question outside of G1

Q3_copy(Show Concept 2 + Concept Appeal)

Q4_copy- By default, we copy the same logic but reference Q3_copy instead as Q3 is a question within G1

Users can just use the default duplicated logic as is (as in the above example) but they can also choose to change based on their survey design.
